Privacy Policy

1. In short

Toons18 can be used without an account. We collect as little as possible: technical data needed to run and protect the Site, and whatever you choose to send us through the report form. The controller responsible for this processing is the operator of Toons18.

2. Data we process

  • Server logs: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser type and referring page. We use them to keep the Site secure, to prevent abuse and for basic statistics, and delete them after a short period unless they are needed to investigate abuse.
  • Age confirmation: a cookie named "age_ok" remembers for 30 days that you confirmed being an adult. It contains no personal data.
  • Browser storage: your bookmarks, reading progress and reader settings are stored in your own browser (local storage). This information stays on your device and is not sent to us.
  • View counts: to avoid counting the same visit twice, your IP address is processed briefly in memory. It is not stored with what you viewed.
  • Reports and messages: when you use the report form we store what you send, including your name and email address if you provide them, in order to handle your request.

3. Cookies

We only set cookies that are strictly necessary for the Site to work: the age confirmation cookie described above and, for staff, a login cookie. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies.

4. Third parties

Some works link to the official website of their publisher. When you follow such a link you leave the Site, and the privacy policy of that website applies.

Our hosting provider processes data on our behalf and under our instructions. We do not sell personal data.

5. Legal bases

Where the GDPR applies, we process data on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), to comply with legal obligations such as age restrictions (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR), and with your consent where the law requires it (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to complain to a data protection authority. You can reach us through the report form at https://toons18.xyz/report.

7. Minors

The Site is intended only for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
